Forest Creation University

Forest creation leads to human development.

The Yusuhara Reiwa Forest Creation Council is currently recruiting people who will work in forestry in Yusuhara Town.
We are ready to support technical training and qualification exams for those with no prior forestry experience.Living in the countryside often brings a mix of hope and worry. Learning forestry skills is the best way towards mastering rural life.
We have developed a unique support system that is “Yusuhara Forest Creation University”. It’s a place of learning where you can steadily build experience just like climbing a mountain. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.

What you will learn at the Yusuhara Forest Creation University

  • Logging and Brush Cutter Techniques(Dispatched to local businesses)

    *ReMORI

    Assist technique training at local businesses to promote interaction and skill development as well as to establish a foundation for future business partnerships.

  • Special Brush Cutter Technique(Tree Climbing)

    *Regional Forest Policy Advisor

    Learn cable rigging using ropes, special logging techniques and the characteristics of trees.

  • Cut trees(prepare the ground and plant new seedling)

    *Regional Forest Policy Advisor

    Initiating Afforestation Work Centered on the Cooperation Team. Efforts Through Corporate Talent, Volunteer Engagement, and Event Organization.

  • Forestry Technology Industrialization(ICT and Drone Technology)

    To establish a pioneering industry in forest information in the country and promote the acquisition of foreign currency and human resources for regional revitalization.

  • Branding(Promoting tourism)

The forests of Yusuhara Town include 10,930 hectares of 9-year-class trees (over 45 years old, ready for cutting) (90% of total area of Yusuhara Town),which indicates the abandance of trees waiting to be harvested.

  • Age Groups of Forestry Workers in Yusuhara Town

    There are 44 forestry workers in Yusuhara Town, but about half - 20 workers - are aged 60 or older. Despite an abundance of forests that need cutting, the number of workers is not enough, and it's expected to decrease even more in the future.
