Seeing my father’s devotion to his workinspired me to take over the family business.
I'm from Yusuhara Town. Forestry is our family business. As I'm the eldest son, I took over the family business. Currently, I operate the business along with my father who is in his 70s.

Another reward is the wood that we cut down and process can make money for the forest owners, which brings them joy and happiness.
Cooking dinner is my role.
In my private life, I have three children going to junior high
school and elementary school. When they were small kids, I was in charge of picking them up at the kindergarten. I also cook dinner for everyone. I'm good at making hamburg steaks and spareribs, which are popular with children.
Usually, when my children go to bed after around 9:00 pm, it's my free time to do my hobbies. Some days I can also enjoy relaxing evenings with my family.
As I'm self-employed, I can decide my days-off by myself, however, I still decided to work on the weekends except on rainy days. As the price of lumber is good right now, it's a great time to work hard.
Activities of CoMORI
I belong to the project named "CoMORI"
It was founded by seven members who all were involved in forestry at a school of forestry leaders, and I am the Vice Chairman of this organization.
I mainly cut down trees around homes about once a month. This requires a lot of technical skill, so not everyone wants to do it. But young members enjoy working together and the townspeople always seem happy after our work.
Our skills include the ability to observe the trees and mountains.
Depending on your work, jobs in forestry can earn a good income.
Nowadays, heavy machinery and drones are available to use, there are also jobs that women can easily participate in. Forestry is becoming an important profession in environmental conservation, so, we'd like you to be interested in it.
